The Brantley Highway 82 Fire and Pineland Road Fire have prompted new evacuation orders as high winds hamper containment, with Brantley County and Clinch and Echols counties hardest hit.
Officials say the Brantley fire began when a party balloon hit a power line, while welding sparks ignited the Pineland Road fire, which is only 10% contained. Governor Kemp calls it Georgia's most destructive wildfire.
