Summary
Two people were killed and five others injured in a Sunday evening shooting at Seattle Center during the Bite of Seattle festival, with police now holding one suspect.
Harborview Medical Center said four survivors were being treated there, including a woman in critical condition undergoing surgery, a 2-year-old boy, a 23-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman.
Witnesses described hearing repeated gunfire before a stampede, while festival workers and bystanders helped children and adults over fences and walls and one person performed CPR.
Authorities were first alerted around 6 p.m. near the 200 block of Thomas Street in Lower Queen Anne; officials have not released a motive, and Mayor Katie Wilson pledged transparency.
