Morgan Hill Party Shooting Kills 1 and Injures 6 at 300-Person Gathering

One person died at the scene and six others were hospitalized after gunfire broke out shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday at an unsanctioned party in rural Morgan Hill.
More than 300 people had gathered at the social-media-promoted event, and deputies responding to reports of intoxicated people in the road and bottles thrown at cars arrived to find the party in chaos.
Santa Clara County homicide detectives said the shooter appears to have used a handgun, believe the attack was an isolated incident, and have not publicly identified any suspect.
Multiple agencies joined the response, and Sheriff Robert Jonsen said investigators will pursue a lengthy, complex case until those responsible are identified and arrested.
