Hamilton Apologizes After 3-Place Hungarian GP Penalty Drops Him to 5th

Lewis Hamilton said sorry for his post-qualifying attitude after a three-place grid penalty turned his front-row result into a fifth-place start at the Hungaroring.
The sanction came after Hamilton impeded Oscar Piastri at Turn 1 in Q3; Ferrari boss Fred Vasseur said a delayed radio warning left Hamilton unaware the McLaren was on a push lap.
Hamilton, 41, said the penalty was "tough to swallow" after narrowly missing pole to Lando Norris, and added that overtaking in Hungary would make strategy crucial in the race.
Norris starts from pole with Charles Leclerc alongside, while Piastri and Max Verstappen line up ahead of Hamilton; championship leader Kimi Antonelli also took a three-place penalty and drops to seventh.
