January 2027 is the launch window Square Enix gave for Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold at the Berlin Fan Festival, alongside an extended teaser and confirmation the expansion is also coming to Nintendo Switch 2.
Berlin reveals also introduced Bastion, a new main tank job that uses paired greatshields called skyltborg, plus new locations Hringhorni, Naglfar and the city of Fargarth.
Two crossover raid projects will anchor Evercold’s side content: Evangelion-themed alliance raid series Ghosts of Desire and Beyond the Lifestream, an 8-player raid tied to Final Fantasy VII Remake.
Mahiro Maeda of Evangelion:3.0+1.0 is joining as a guest artist and designer, while FFVII Remake director Naoki Hamaguchi appeared on stage as the teams pitched Evercold as the start of the Goddless Realms Saga.
