A Russian drone struck a passenger train locomotive in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region after railway workers and passengers had evacuated the cars, Ukrzaliznytsia said.
A railway monitoring group warned the crew in time about a potential threat, allowing the evacuation before impact and leaving no passengers or rail staff injured.
Ukrzaliznytsia said it was rerouting passengers onward by the safest available route to get them to their stations with minimal delay.
The hit follows repeated drone attacks on Ukraine's passenger rail network in recent weeks, including a July 18 double strike on a train in Zaporizhzhia that also caused damage but no casualties.
