Fans will experience the version officially described by Paramount+ and Avatar Studios: a post-cataclysm world centered on Pavi, a young Earthbender who discovers she is the new Avatar, in a reality where that title makes her feared as humanity’s destroyer rather than its savior. The series premieres Oct. 9, 2026, on Paramount+. The conflicting leak appears to come from two overlapping descriptions. One says the show follows twin avatars, Pavi and Nisha, restoring balance between the spirit and physical worlds. The more detailed and repeatedly corroborated official material instead says Pavi is the Avatar, while Nisha is her long-lost twin. In that version, Pavi is hunted by both human and spirit enemies after a cataclysm has shattered the world, and the sisters must uncover their origins and save the Seven Havens, the last strongholds of civilization. That latter storyline is backed by the Comic-Con teaser, Paramount+ release announcement, and multiple trade-style reports. Those sources also confirm the show is a 2D-animated sequel set after The Legend of Korra, created by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, with 26 episodes. So, barring a late story twist, viewers in October should expect a devastated post-Korra world where Pavi is the sole new Avatar and Nisha is her twin ally, not a co-Avatar.
