11-year-old Logan Rahn died days after a scooter crash with a car at 179th and Island Circle in Bennington, prompting an outpouring from Omaha’s hockey community.
Coach Steve Jasa said Rahn brought energy and laughter to the rink, and that his impact extended beyond hockey after helping his team win a championship season.
The community has shown support through social media and the hockey tradition of putting sticks out, while the Omaha Hockey Club works with the family on memorial helmet stickers.
Engraved Tumblrs bearing Rahn in his hockey gear have also been created, as supporters focus on preserving the legacy Jasa said was defined by kindness and potential.
The Douglas County Attorney said the driver involved in the crash will not face charges.
