IDEMIA Disputes Sherrill's 6,600-Voter Error Claim as New Jersey Resists Federal Data Demand

Summary
IDEMIA said all 6,600 people added to New Jersey voter rolls had correctly been recorded as wanting to register but as noncitizens, rejecting Mikie Sherrill's claim that the contractor's software marked them as citizens.
June 2024 brought a fix after the Motor Vehicle Commission asked IDEMIA to automatically treat noncitizens as declining registration, but the roughly yearlong backlog of mistaken registrations was neither removed nor publicly disclosed until now.
Sherrill still blamed IDEMIA on Thursday, saying the state had already decided to part ways with the company over broader "incompetence" at the MVC before the voter-roll issue surfaced.
Washington has turned the case into a wider voting-fraud fight: Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon sought the noncitizens' identities this week, while Sherrill said her administration does not plan to hand over personal data to the federal government.
