Sheldon Johnson — a former Joe Rogan podcast guest and ex-con turned criminal justice advocate — is accused of fatally shooting Collin Small in a Bronx apartment in spring 2024, then dismembering the body.
Police first found Small’s headless torso and later his feet in a plastic bin; other remains were allegedly recovered from Johnson’s Harlem apartment, leading to a second-degree murder charge.
Rogan said on Wednesday that Johnson appeared on his podcast about a month before the killing, recalling that the guest had presented himself as someone trying to turn his life around.
Johnson had been released from prison in 2019 after serving time for 1999 armed robberies and was working for Queens’ public defender office when he appeared on the show, underscoring the collapse of his reform narrative.
