QPerfect has signed a research partnership with the University of Strasbourg to create a hardware-accurate digital twin for aQCess, France’s first publicly accessible neutral-atom quantum computing platform.
The MIMIQ-based twin will replicate the processor’s native gate sets, instruction architecture, atom-transport dynamics and measured noise, letting researchers benchmark and validate algorithms against a realistic model alongside live hardware runs.
At CESQ in Strasbourg, QPerfect is also integrating its compilation and error-correction stack, including Quantum Logic Unit software, into the hardware control loop as the system scales toward more than 400 individually controllable ytterbium qubits.
The project sits within aQCess’s 18-partner consortium—spanning 7 research institutes and 2 regional quantum hubs—and is backed by France’s national quantum programs to widen access for researchers, startups and industrial users.

France is advancing its quantum computing capabilities through a formal partnership between QPerfect, a subsidiary of BTQ Technologies, and the University of Strasbourg. This collaboration is developing a hardware-accurate digital twin for the aQCess quantum processor, which is central to establishing the country’s first publicly accessible neutral-atom quantum computing platform. The initiative is a key part of the French National Strategy for Quantum Technologies, supported by national research grants and the PEPR-Quantique program. Led by the University of Strasbourg and CNRS through CESQ, aQCess aims to provide open access to advanced quantum hardware, accelerating research and innovation across France and Europe.
