Manchester Crown Court jailed Mohammad Bashir, 31, for life with a minimum 17 years after he admitted preparing an act of terrorism.
On 14 August 2025, Bashir drove Jihad Al-Shamie on a 10-hour round trip to carry out hostile reconnaissance at the Defence Academy in Shrivenham, Oxfordshire.
Police uncovered Bashir's links after examining his phones following the October 2025 Heaton Park Synagogue attack, in which Al-Shamie killed two Jewish men before police shot him dead weeks after the base trip.
The case ties a foiled plot against a military site to the wider investigation into one of the UK's deadliest antisemitic attacks of 2025.
