High beef prices are pushing more shoppers to consider pork cuts, extending favorable demand conditions for U.S. swine producers into 2026.
Holly Cook of the National Pork Producers Council said the meat-price gap is driving summer demand conversations as consumers compare pork with costlier beef at the counter.
That demand follows strong 2025 profit opportunities for hog producers, when lower input costs and solid consumer buying boosted margins.
Summer typically gives pork producers added sales opportunities, suggesting beef's price pressure could keep supporting the sector in the near term.
