Lil Wayne endorsed Donald Trump’s White House ballroom project on a Monday podcast, saying a permanent indoor venue would better suit major performances and official events.
The rapper tied his support to a 2023 performance at then-Vice President Kamala Harris’ 50th-anniversary hip-hop event, which was held outside and felt like a “backyard barbecue.”
Trump has pitched the ballroom as a security and logistics upgrade for state dinners, diplomatic receptions, performances and even future inaugurations, saying it is rising on the White House’s east side.
In a May Truth Social post, Trump said the redesign roughly doubled the project’s scale, lifting the cost from $200 million to less than $400 million while keeping it ahead of schedule and under budget.
