Summary
July 24-30 will bring an awards-qualifying theatrical run for “Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender” at AMC theaters in Burbank and Manhattan, ahead of its Paramount+ debut on July 25.
Three daily showtimes in Los Angeles and New York give Paramount a path to campaign the film for next year’s best animated feature Oscar and other awards; tickets go on sale July 16.
The one-week run also restores a big-screen launch for the franchise after the film shifted from an October theatrical release to a primarily streaming rollout under Paramount+.
“Avatar Aang” is the first release from Avatar Studios, launched in 2021 to make films and series from the franchise that began with Nickelodeon’s 2005 animated hit.
