Kentucky Tornadoes Damage 12 Homes and Injure 2 as Storm System Reaches New York

At least 12 residential structures were damaged north of Bowling Green, Kentucky, after reported tornadoes struck near Clarkson just before 5 p.m., injuring two people and forcing three evacuations.
Grayson County officials said the storm tore roofs off buildings, downed power lines and toppled trees, with damage concentrated in a small lakeside vacation area that was largely empty.
By 6:30 p.m. the worst had moved out of the area, but the broader system was still pushing east into West Virginia, Virginia and Maryland, where Baltimore was under a flash flood warning.
The same weather system also stretched into New England, triggering flash flood alerts and a tornado watch around New York City — the area's first such watch since 2021.
The outbreak followed repeated tornado warnings across southern Illinois, Kentucky and Virginia, including at least one National Weather Service alert labeled a "particularly dangerous situation."
