Summary
Amazon agreed to lease all of 1000 Enterprise Way—nearly 317,000 square feet at Sunnyvale’s Moffett Towers campus—adding to space it already occupies there.
The building was formerly occupied by Google, which had listed parts of its Moffett Towers offices for sublease three years ago and had been gradually vacating the space.
Amazon has not said which unit will move in or how many employees the site will hold, leaving the scale of its local expansion unclear months after its 16,000-job layoff hit nearly 700 Silicon Valley workers.
JLL data cited by the Silicon Valley Business Journal showed the first half was the region’s strongest six-month leasing period since 2018, with leases above 100,000 square feet doubling from the 2025 average.
That rebound has been fueled in part by AI companies leasing 2.4 million square feet this year, while new office construction has fallen to its lowest level in more than two decades.
