Samsung’s fourth One UI 9.0 beta adds a power-menu notice saying “For your security, your phone is locked,” making a previously unclear security change visible to users.
One UI 9.0 now locks the phone and disables biometric authentication as soon as the power menu opens, replacing the old manual Lockdown Mode shortcut.
Once users exit the power menu, fingerprint and face unlock remain disabled until they enter a PIN, pattern or password.
The beta is rolling out on the Galaxy S26 series, and Samsung is expected to unveil the stable One UI 9.0 release with its next flagship foldables on July 21.
