NASA Selects Virtuix Omni One for 1-Year Moon-Mars Analog Mission

Virtuix said NASA chose its Omni One platform for the Moon and Mars Exploration Analog, a year-long mission simulation set to start next year at Johnson Space Center in Houston.
Four volunteers will live in a 650-square-foot habitat for one year, using the omni-directional treadmill during simulated Mars EVAs to walk, kneel, turn and navigate virtual terrain.
NASA will use the system to study astronaut performance in tasks such as equipment repair, rock sampling, emergency response and mission replanning ahead of deep-space missions.
The selection extends Virtuix’s push into government work after projects with the Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy, Army and Air National Guard.
Virtuix said it is also reviewing defense-training acquisitions targeting companies with $10 million to $50 million in annual revenue to deepen government market access.
