FBI Says 4-Day Delay May Have Erased Nancy Guthrie Abduction Video

Four days after Nancy Guthrie vanished from her Tucson home, the FBI was finally brought in, Director Kash Patel said, arguing the delay may have cost investigators additional Nest doorbell footage and other evidence.
Google and the FBI recovered only cached video that was close to deletion because Guthrie lacked a cloud subscription and the physical camera was missing, Patel said; any earlier footage was likely gone by then.
That recovered material produced images released on Feb. 10 and a rough description of a masked suspect—5-foot-9 to 5-foot-10, medium build, carrying a black Ozark Trail backpack—seen at least twice at the home.
Patel said the FBI had been ready to deploy from day one, but by the time agents arrived the crime scene had been released and neighbors had approached the bloodstained front door before it was secured again.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has said an FBI task-force member was present early on, though not a federal agent; the case remains unsolved, with rewards topping $1.2 million.
