Luna Urges Rubio to Revoke Chinese Student Visas Over 220 Million Voter Files

A July 20 letter from Rep. Anna Paulina Luna asked Secretary of State Marco Rubio to cancel all active F-1 and J-1 visas for Chinese nationals and stop issuing new ones.
Luna tied the demand to declassified intelligence that she said showed Chinese interference in U.S. elections, including the acquisition of 220 million voter files containing names, addresses, phone numbers and party preferences.
Trump amplified those allegations in a national address last week, calling it the largest compromise of election data in history and saying the information could be used to register to vote and conduct other illicit activity.
The State Department did not address Luna's request directly, saying it generally does not comment on congressional correspondence while adding that the administration applies the highest national-security and public-safety standards in visa processing.
The push adds to widening U.S.-China security tensions, with the report also citing satellite images showing China building a full-scale replica of a U.S. Navy destroyer in a remote desert.
