It initially failed to impress some critics because, despite its huge performance, the Temerario did not deliver the emotional soundtrack many expect from a Lamborghini. The main issue was the switch from the Huracán’s naturally aspirated V10 to a plug-in hybrid twin-turbo V8 with three electric motors. On paper, the new setup is formidable at 907 hp, with 0-62 mph in 2.7 seconds and a 10,000-rpm redline. But early reactions focused less on speed than on character. Reviewers said the engine note could sound muted or mechanical at lower revs and in calmer drive modes, only becoming dramatic when driven hard in manual mode. That mattered because the Huracán and Gallardo built their reputations partly on a loud, high-revving V10 sound that was central to the brand’s appeal. For some critics, the Temerario’s hybridized V8 felt like a break with that tradition, making the car seem less special on first impression even if its objective performance was exceptional. A few secondary complaints also appeared in early reviews, including a busy steering-wheel control layout, the lack of a memory function for the front-axle lift, and suggestions that cornering grip was not quite as sharp as the larger Revuelto in some track assessments. So the criticism was not about lack of speed or engineering ambition. It was mainly about emotion: the Temerario’s early detractors felt its sound and feel did not immediately match the drama expected from a Lamborghini replacing an iconic V10.
