Mercedes-Benz launched the 2027 Mercedes-Maybach GLS in Beverly Hills and opened its first U.S. customization studio, with the ultra-luxury SUV due late this year or in early 2027.
Priced well above $150,000, the GLS 680 targets rising U.S. demand for high-end SUVs with a 603-hp twin-turbo hybrid V8, a four-passenger layout and expanded rear-seat comfort.
The Los Angeles studio brings Mercedes' Manufaktur program to American buyers, letting them choose one-off paints, leather, trim and other bespoke details usually associated with Rolls-Royce or Bentley.
Mercedes said the LA site joins 18 design spaces across four continents, and expects as many as one-third of its U.S. customers could eventually choose its highest Made to Measure customization tier.
