July 13 approvals gave Deerfield a first-ever downtown marketing plan and a new auditor, with Revelation hired for $24,000 and KerberRose selected for 2026-2030 annual audits.
The marketing push grew out of the business improvement district’s effort to pull Glacial Drumlin State Trail visitors into downtown and recruit new businesses after identifying a need for stronger branding.
Revelation will develop logos, color palettes, street banner designs, a business recruitment brochure and trailhead bulletin-board programming, then deliver market analysis, event ideas and physical improvement recommendations by October 2026.
KerberRose won the audit work after Deerfield’s prior five-year deal with Bauman Associates expired; its average five-year cost was $29,135, the lowest of four bids.
Village officials said changing auditors can provide fresh perspectives on financial practices, while the new marketing plan is intended to shape longer-term downtown development.
