DHS Deports 100-Plus Haitians Convicted of Violent and Sex Crimes After TPS Setback

A July 16 flight returned more than 100 Haitian immigrants to Haiti after U.S. convictions that included child molestation, armed carjacking, domestic violence and drug trafficking, DHS said Monday.
DHS said the deportees were in the U.S. illegally and framed the removals as part of a broader push against criminal noncitizens, warning others to leave or face arrest and deportation.
Named deportees included Styv Charles and Timothe Matel, both convicted in cases involving minors, along with Marc James Guerrier Pinard, Markendy Henry and Fito Almanor.
The removals come after the Supreme Court last month said Haitians with Temporary Protected Status could not use federal courts to delay losing that protection.
The Trump administration ended TPS for about 520,000 Haitians in June 2025, tightening the backdrop for Haitian migrants as deportations accelerate.
