16-Year-Old Pupil Convicted of Wounding Teacher, Cleared of Attempted Murder

Summary
A Swansea Crown Court jury found the 16-year-old guilty of wounding with intent and unlawful wounding over the 5 February stabbing of teacher Vicki Williams, but acquitted him of attempted murder.
Williams said the boy followed her into an empty classroom at Milford Haven Comprehensive School after asking for help with history work, then pulled a kitchen knife from his bag and lunged at her.
The teacher suffered head, back and hand injuries and told jurors she feared she would die, while CCTV showed the teenager running from the school after the attack.
Jurors reached a majority verdict on wounding with intent after four hours of deliberation; the boy had already admitted possessing a kitchen knife on school grounds.
The teenager, who was 15 at the time and cannot be named, will remain in youth detention until sentencing on 3 September.
