Indonesia's Manpower Ministry said it is using AI to improve labor-market analysis and training planning so employment policies better match workforce and industry needs.
Four AI functions underpin the shift: mapping labor demand across sectors, spotting urgent competency gaps, designing adaptive training plans, and supporting evidence-based decisions.
Cris Kuntadi, the ministry's secretary general, said the bigger challenge is not just offering training but keeping it relevant to industrial change.
The ministry stressed AI is only a tool, with success depending on officials and workers building adaptive mindsets, continuous learning habits, and stronger global competitiveness.
