Lindsay Clancy Murder Trial Opens July 20 as Husband May Testify in 3-Child Case

Jury selection begins at 9 a.m. Monday in Plymouth Superior Court for Lindsay Clancy, the 35-year-old former nurse charged with killing her three children in Duxbury in January 2023.
More than 200 witnesses could be called, including husband Patrick Clancy, as the defense argues doctors misdiagnosed and overmedicated her, triggering postpartum psychosis and hallucinations commanding her to kill the children.
An amended civil complaint says Clancy sought psychiatric help repeatedly from September 2022 onward, cycled through drugs including Zoloft, Prozac, Seroquel and Amitriptyline, and reported hearing voices and thoughts of harming the children.
The lawsuit accuses multiple providers and hospitals of malpractice for missing bipolar disorder with postpartum onset and failing to coordinate care before Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, were killed.
Clancy has pleaded not guilty; the criminal trial and parallel malpractice suit will test whether her mental state stemmed from untreated illness and flawed medical care.
