Summary
23 missiles and 10 drones hit 20 locations in and around Kyiv overnight, killing one person and wounding 16 after one of Russia’s biggest ballistic barrages of the war.
Ukraine said Russia launched more than 40 missiles and 120 attack drones, with Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha calling it the largest number of ballistic missiles used since the invasion began.
Air defenses downed or neutralized 126 targets—18 missiles and 108 drones—but strikes still tore a huge crater into the capital, damaged a major logistics warehouse and hit five city districts.
Across Ukraine, Russian drone and missile attacks killed at least 16 civilians and injured 77 in the past 24 hours, while Moscow said it had targeted Kyiv defense-industry and logistics sites.
The assault followed Ukrainian drone strikes that killed eight at two Russian logistics centers, as Kyiv also kept hitting Russian oil infrastructure while again pressing allies for more Patriot-class interceptors.
