Utah Dashboard Shows 1.0% Job Growth, Ranking State 4th Nationally

Utah’s June 2026 economic dashboard highlighted 1.0% year-over-year job growth in May—five times the 0.2% national pace—and said the state ranked fourth nationally.
Seven of Utah’s 11 major industries added jobs, while labor force participation stayed relatively high at 66.5%, the sixth-highest rate in the country.
That participation rate has still softened, decreasing or holding flat since August 2024, a trend the Utah Chamber said bears watching for workforce planning.
Consumer sentiment improved alongside lower gasoline prices, with the Zions Bank index rising 1.6% in June to 71.5 from 70.3 in May.
Institute officials said the picture remains uneven, warning global conflict could keep pressuring prices, business planning and broader economic performance in coming months.
