Summary
Ôl | Haunts will become the first Welsh-language VR work to compete at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, with its international premiere set for Venice Immersive Island on Sept. 2-12.
68 immersive experiences were chosen worldwide, and the bilingual production was selected for a category that marks a breakthrough for Welsh immersive storytelling on a major international stage.
2006-era Llanberis anchors the experience, which blends archive footage, virtual landscapes and music from Super Furry Animals, John Cale and High Contrast, with narration in Welsh and English.
Aug. 1-8 at the National Eisteddfod will host the work in Wales before Venice, ahead of another showing at Wales Millennium Centre's Llais Festival on Oct. 7-11.
