Tennessee’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate slipped 0.1 point to 3.5% in June, matching its lowest level of 2026 and holding flat from a year earlier.
The state again outperformed the U.S., where unemployment was 4.2% in June after 4.3% in May and 4.1% a year earlier.
25,300 nonfarm jobs were added over the past year, led by health care and social assistance, leisure and hospitality, and administrative and support services.
2,500 jobs were added from May to June, with the biggest monthly gains in private education and health services, durable goods manufacturing, and professional and technical services.
The labor department paired the data release with a reminder that veterans can access job placement and training support through American Job Centers and the state’s JVSG program.
