Apple lifted prices across the entire iPhone 17 lineup in Japan, with increases ranging from 8,000 yen on the iPhone 17e to 25,000 yen on some iPhone 17 Pro Max versions.
The move comes earlier than some watchers expected, as iPhoneros had anticipated Apple would wait until the iPhone 18 generation before raising Japanese prices.
A related report earlier on July 17 said Apple had already raised Japan prices by up to 11% across multiple iPhone models, citing yen weakness against the U.S. dollar as the main driver.
The increase lands ahead of the expected iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max launch in September or October, with the rest of the iPhone 18 family due in the first half of 2027.
