BLS data show Minnesota added just 2.1% in total nonfarm jobs from 2018 to 2025, far below the 6.4% gain for the United States overall.
That gap means Minnesota's job growth ran at less than one-third the national pace over the period.
The longer-term comparison follows a reported 5,400 increase in Minnesota nonfarm jobs between April and May, based on the BLS Establishment survey.
The figures sharpen questions about Minnesota's business climate by showing recent monthly gains have not translated into stronger job growth over time.
