Auracast on the Crusher 1080 ANC looks more forward-thinking than gimmicky, even if most buyers will not use it much right away. The reason is that Auracast is not a Skullcandy-only feature or a branding trick. It is part of Bluetooth LE Audio, a real industry standard that lets one source broadcast audio to many compatible devices at once. That creates practical uses: shared listening, hearing silent TVs in gyms or airports, and better assistive listening for people using hearing aids or headphones. Android 16 now supports it at the operating-system level, and major device makers including Samsung, Google, LG, Sony, JBL and hearing-aid brands are building it in. That said, its immediate value is limited by rollout. Public venues are only beginning to install Auracast transmitters, and broad venue adoption is still expected to take several years, likely into the end of the decade. Compatibility is improving, but the ecosystem is not yet as seamless or universal as standard Bluetooth pairing. For many Skullcandy buyers in 2026, Auracast will be more of a future-ready bonus than a daily-use feature. For Skullcandy, including it still makes strategic sense. The company is trying to prove these headphones are not just bass-heavy lifestyle gear but modern, technically credible products. Adding Auracast alongside Bose-backed ANC, spatial audio and long battery life supports that message. So the feature is real and meaningful, but its payoff is more long-term than immediate.

$280 Crusher 1080 ANC headphones are now on sale, giving Skullcandy a new flagship built to preserve mids and highs even when its signature bass slider is turned up.
Bose helped decouple the Crusher bass system from the rest of the tuning, adding active noise canceling, spatial audio and a six-microphone call setup to address Skullcandy's long-running weak spot in sound quality.
Skullcandy says the headphones deliver 60 hours of battery life with ANC off and 50 hours with it on, plus 4 hours of playback from a 10-minute charge.
The launch extends a turnaround effort that began with 2025's $130 Method 360 ANC earbuds, as Skullcandy tries to shift from a lifestyle brand image toward more credible audio performance while undercutting premium rivals on price.
