$35.1 million in four-day Steam revenue made Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Ubisoft’s fastest-selling Assassin’s Creed on the platform, with 701,000 copies sold and nearly $1 million more from launch DLC.
Day-one Steam sales reached $22.4 million and cumulative revenue ran 1.58x ahead of Assassin’s Creed Shadows after four days, despite Resynced’s lower $59.99 price; peak daily active users hit 416,000 on day two.
Mixed Steam reviews did not stop the launch, but they were heavily skewed by China: Simplified Chinese reviews were 20.8% of the total and only 45% positive, largely protesting streamer early access before pre-order customers.
DLC backlash was louder than spending—players complained about an $85-plus day-one store push, yet the top $4.99 map pack attached to just 6.34% of buyers and DLC contributed under 3% of Steam revenue.
The result strengthens Ubisoft’s day-and-date Steam strategy, with the US accounting for 30% of players and China 15%, underscoring PC storefront growth even as technical issues and monetization complaints linger.
