Fund buying and selling has become a major recent driver of grain futures, Kristina McVicker said, alongside weather in the I-states and USDA reports shaping day-to-day moves.
Exports, China, South American supply and biofuel policy are also steering prices by tying local grain markets to broader global demand and policy shifts.
McVicker said recent rallies have created chances to lock in profits rather than wait for bigger moves.
She urged growers to weigh basis levels, market carry and cash-flow timing when deciding when to make sales.
