U.S. Crude Output Tops 13.8 Million BPD for 3rd Week as Exports Hit 13.6 Million

U.S. crude production rose 50,000 barrels a day to above 13.8 million bpd for a third straight week, extending the country’s lead as the world’s top oil producer.
EIA data showed 2025 output running about 40% above Russia and Saudi Arabia, with the four-week average above 13.8 million bpd for a second week and the year-to-date average nearing 13.7 million.
Commercial crude inventories climbed 3 million barrels to just over 411 million, yet remained 11% below a year ago and 6% under the five-year seasonal average; the SPR fell below 320 million barrels.
April petroleum exports set a record 13.6 million bpd, up 15% from March, while crude exports hit a record 5.6 million bpd and propane exports topped 2 million bpd for the first time.
Oil prices slipped 50 cents Friday but jumped $5 Monday after new U.S. military action in Iran and a renewed blockade raised risks around Strait of Hormuz shipping.
