New York City will move ahead with a dedicated busway on Tremont Avenue in the Bronx, a project Mayor Zohran Mamdani said would speed trips for 39,000 daily bus riders.
The busway will reserve the corridor for buses, emergency vehicles and trucks during peak hours, aiming to ease unreliable, overcrowded service on one of the borough’s busy thoroughfares.
City Hall also said it will gather input on Brooklyn bus upgrades covering 13 routes on Flatbush, Utica and Church avenues that carry about 150,000 riders a day.
