Applications have opened for UNDP Africa’s 2026 Timbuktoo Pan-African EdTech Incubation Programme, run from the EdTech Hub in Dakar to help African education startups scale digital learning and skills solutions.
Selected startups will receive structured incubation, mentor and investor access, investment-readiness support, entry into the pan-African incubation network, and use of the SIGMA digital platform.
African startups must have an education, training or skills-development solution, a testable prototype and a committed founding team; UNDP is especially encouraging women-led, rural and accessibility-focused ventures.
The programme spans areas including digital learning, TVET, teacher-support tools, AI-powered learning, inclusive education and workforce-readiness technology.
UNDP says the push responds to more than 100 million young Africans needing inclusive quality education and fits its broader Timbuktoo plan to mobilize $1 billion over 10 years.
