USS Theodore Roosevelt Departs Pearl Harbor for RIMPAC 2026 Sea Phase

USS Theodore Roosevelt was leaving Pearl Harbor on July 7 to start the sea phase of RIMPAC 2026, after wrapping up the exercise’s in-port events in Hawaii.
RIMPAC’s sea phase begins this week, with Roosevelt and amphibious assault ship USS Essex among the participating units that had been hosting public tours and community events at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.
Elsewhere in the Pacific, USS George Washington continued Western Pacific operations after last week’s SINKEX, while USS Carl Vinson returned to San Diego following flight deck certifications and carrier qualifications.
The movement comes as the Navy’s wider carrier and amphibious fleet remains active globally, including a reinforced Middle East posture with four big-deck warships now on station.
