Ralls County officials have released few details beyond saying the coroner requested an autopsy, leaving the cause and circumstances of her death undisclosed weeks later.
Court records show her husband, anesthesiologist Andrew Hummel, pleaded guilty in March 2026 to assaulting a woman after a July 2025 arrest alleging strangulation and striking.
Andrew Hummel declined to comment, and authorities have not accused him of any crime or wrongdoing in Alexandra Hummel's death.
