Oman’s annual inflation rate stood at 2.8% in June 2026, with the first-half average also at 2.8%, showing broadly steady price pressure.
Food and non-alcoholic beverages led the rise, up 6.1% year on year, while transport climbed 5.5% and miscellaneous goods and services rose 5.7%.
Vegetable prices surged 23.6% within the food basket, ahead of fruit at 9.9% and meat at 7.3%, while fish was the only major food category to fall, down 1.7%.
Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels was the only major group to decline, slipping 0.6% and partly offsetting broader increases in services and imported-cost-sensitive categories.
Dhahirah posted the highest regional inflation at 3.5%, while North Sharqiyah recorded the lowest at 1.9%, underscoring uneven price trends across governorates.
