50 of Turkey’s 81 provinces posted export growth in January-June, and 21 provinces exceeded $1 billion in outbound shipments, the Trade Ministry said.
June exports were led by Istanbul at $4.8 billion, up 27.6% year on year, followed by Kocaeli at $3.9 billion and İzmir at $2.2 billion.
Istanbul’s biggest export category was precious or semi-precious stones at $693.8 million, while motor vehicles led Kocaeli at $1.4 billion and mineral fuels and oils led İzmir at $484.4 million.
The top June destinations also differed by province: the UAE took $326.7 million from Istanbul, the UK $351.8 million from Kocaeli, and Spain $222.1 million from İzmir.
