Pakatan Harapan withdrew support for Malacca’s Barisan Nasional-led state government, with all five of its state assembly members quitting the administration.
Four PH assembly members will also resign their state posts after the coalition failed to block a bill creating new vacancies for unelected, appointed assembly members.
The split deepens strains between Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s coalition and federal ally Barisan Nasional, which had already clashed in Johor state elections.
