Frederick County Council Weighs IW2 Industrial Acreage Expansion on Tuesday

Tuesday’s council meeting will take up the Investing in Workers and Workplaces plan, which would expand land available for industrial and other employment uses in Frederick County.
The proposal reaches the County Council as a recommendation from the Planning Commission after multiple public hearings.
Those hearings produced a significantly scaled-back version of the expansion plan before it advanced to the council.
The vote will test how much industrial growth the county is willing to support after public pushback narrowed the original proposal.
