Summary
Thirty-six evacuated homes in Capelulo face an open-ended wait to return, even after North Wales Fire and Rescue said no further evacuations were needed on Monday morning.
About 200 acres have burned near Conwy Mountain and Sychnant Pass, where officials expect the fire to keep spreading in heatwave conditions and have told nearby residents to keep windows and doors shut.
A 1.6km fire front at the blaze's height forced road closures on Sychnant Pass Road and Old Conway Road, while Ysgol Pencae and Ysgol Capelulo shut on Monday.
Satellite images from Sunday showed smoke and scorch marks stretching about a mile behind Capelulo, with a plume billowing more than 12 miles northwest toward Anglesey.
The Conwy fire is part of a wider surge in UK wildfires as most of Wales faces a very high fire risk during the country's third heatwave of the year.
