The Essex couple had postponed their wedding for years to provide for their 10 children, even though Pennell had proposed when they first got together about 20 years ago.
Hospital staff organized the ceremony in less than a week, bringing together family and friends including the couple’s 10 children and some of their 18 grandchildren.
