Janine Allis said she is largely a "cheerleader" at Yo-Chi, with son Oliver driving the brand and husband Jeff advising the frozen-yoghurt chain’s direction.
Yo-Chi grew from four stores bought in 2020 from George Calombaris’s collapsed Made Establishment into 70 Australian outlets and two in Singapore, with wider international ambitions.
Oliver serves as chief brand director, while Jeff—also an owner—stays mostly out of view; other relatives run stores in Western Australia and South Australia, extending the family-led model.
Allis, who built Boost Juice into more than 1,000 stores across 15 countries, said Yo-Chi’s success surprised her because she usually warns against mixing business with family.
