Verizon Offers Free iPhone 17 or Pixel 10 With $30 Unlimited Plan

No. Verizon’s $30 Simplicity Plan and its “free” or heavily discounted iPhone offers generally do not stack. The $30 price applies to the new Simplicity Plan for switchers who enroll in autopay. That plan is built around a lower monthly service bill: unlimited data, 5G Ultra Wideband, 10GB of hotspot use, and no activation fee. But the tradeoff is that Simplicity is not the plan Verizon uses for its headline phone promotions. The iPhone deals Verizon is advertising — such as a free iPhone 17 with a new line or an iPhone 17 Pro for $2 a month — are tied to its higher-priced myPlan unlimited options, not Simplicity. Those promotions typically require a qualifying unlimited plan, and Verizon’s own plan structure places device subsidies on Unlimited Welcome, Plus, or Ultimate rather than on Simplicity. For a budget-minded customer, that means the real choice is usually one of two paths: take the $30 Simplicity rate and bring your own phone, buy one outright, or finance it separately; or choose a more expensive myPlan and get the phone discount through monthly bill credits. There is one small offset on Simplicity: Verizon has dropped activation and upgrade fees, which can save about $40 per device. But that does not make the free-iPhone promotions available on the $30 plan. So if the goal is the absolute lowest monthly bill, Simplicity is the better fit. If the goal is a subsidized new iPhone, a myPlan option is usually required.

$0 flagship phone promotions now headline Verizon’s latest offers, with the iPhone 17 and Pixel 10 free for customers who add a new line and take an eligible unlimited plan.
The push comes alongside Verizon’s new $30-a-month Simplicity Plan, which bundles unlimited talk, text and data, 5G Ultra Wideband, 10GB of hotspot data and Verizon Dollars rewards.
Higher-end devices are also discounted: the iPhone 17 Pro starts at $2 a month with a new line or up to $830 off via trade-in, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra is priced at $5 a month.
Verizon has also dropped activation fees for new and loyalty customers, broadening the carrier’s effort to make switching cheaper as it pairs lower plan pricing with aggressive handset subsidies.
